The man behind it all...
As the Additional District Collector of Pakyong, Mr. Robin Pd. Sewa's role has been instrumental in shaping and supporting the vision behind this initiative. With a deep understanding of the region’s potential and a forward-thinking approach, he has actively contributed to aligning administrative support, facilitating ground-level coordination, and ensuring smooth execution of the project. His consistent guidance and belief in creating sustainable, community-driven models have been key in transforming this concept into a working reality—bridging governance with grassroots innovation.
Story behind Connect Earth Sikkim
It began with a simple question: What if every patch of barren land in Sikkim could breathe again?
The Friday Field Day initiative was born from that vision — a grassroots movement aimed at reviving unused, barren lands through collective effort, volunteerism, and a deep sense of responsibility towards our soil. It was more than just a cleanup or plantation drive — it became a living symbol of what communities could achieve when united by purpose.
This revival movement, supported and encouraged by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), was more than an event — it was a statement. A statement that sustainability doesn’t require scale, only intent. Under the clear vision of the Chief Minister, the project sparked across the region, rekindling people’s connection to their land and roots.
As the idea matured, so did its possibilities. Witnessing the energy and transformation brought about by Friday Field Day, ADC Pakyong, Shri Robin Pd. Sewa, envisioned taking this idea further — beyond revival, into regeneration and contribution. His leadership helped structure a more focused, sustainable model rooted in participation, learning, and community development.
And so, Connect Earth was born.
Positioned as a Sweat Contribution Centre, Connect Earth is not just about renting farmland or promoting eco-tourism. It’s about creating a space where people give back through action—planting, building, learning, and growing together. It merges land use, community involvement, sustainable living, and tourism into one circular ecosystem, inspired entirely by the success and spirit of Friday Field Day.
This project stands today as a direct reflection of what visionary leadership can achieve — from the macro vision of the Chief Minister, to the ground-level execution led by Shri Robin Pd. Sewa, every layer of Connect Earth echoes the belief that when we reconnect with our land, we reconnect with our purpose.
